Shabbat and Me - It must be at least three years since we ran “Shabbat and Me” in shul. It was incredibly popular. The idea was simple. We invited members of the community -men, women, our younger members, to prepare a short address 5-10 minutes max, at the end of the service, on a theme of their choosing. The idea was to give everyone a chance to get to know each other a little better. Some of the best addresses we heard were about people at work, about their families about connecting their Jewish identity or a Jewish event to their everyday lives. This was not a test of religious knowledge or commitment to shul. In fact quite the opposite. We wanted to know more about the people we see in shul whether it is once a week or once a year. So what is the forthcoming agenda:

6th September 08 - Stephen Horne

1st November 08 - Allan Solomon
20th December 08 - Melanie Silver
