Watford and District synagogue know affectionately by its members as 'WADS' is part of the United Synagogue and serves the Jewish community of Watford, Croxley & Rickmansworth and surrounding areas of Hertfordshire & North London.
Watford is just 20 minutes by train from London Euston and has great access to Birmingham & Manchester via the fast mainline services from Watford Junction. It has quick easy access to London's Heathrow, Luton & Stansted airports, and enjoys excellent road transport links via the M1, A41 and M25. We are also well served with access to London by tube trains on the Metropolitan line.
Watford is an incredibly welcoming, warm, friendly & caring community led by Rabbi Ephraim Levine and his family. Regular and varied activities take place in the Synagogue and cater for all age groups. We have a lovely modern shul which has the benefit of air conditioning. There is a cheder led by Rochel, our Rabbis wife, as well as adult education programmes, and social and cultural events to stimulate and inspire. We have an incredibly successful Brownie pack and hope shortly to be able to open a cub pack too.
The synagogue is situated in a charming residential area known as Nascot Wood, and has great recreational and shopping facilities. Watford is renowned for the quality of its education, with private and local authority (including grammar) schools, of the highest standard.
Our synagogue is a community, but more commonly described as a family and we welcome visitors and new members and encourage everyone to participate.
Come and join us for a Shabbat or one of our social events advertised on this site and we hope you can see why WADS is such a happy place.
If you are interested in joining and experiencing the "Watford Way" then please contact the Shul office or email us.
