Watford and District Synagogue is set in the characteristic Nascot Village,
close to both the amenities of Watford town centre and the beautiful
greenery of Cassiobury Park. There has been a Jewish community
in the town for almost a hundred years and yet from the ashes of the
terrible flames, which destroyed the interior of the present building
in 1993, grew a modern, air-conditioned shul serving approximately 200
families.
Led
by Rabbi Ephraim Levine, the Watford community takes pride in its reputation
as a friendly and welcoming Shul. The communal events ensure that
the spectrum of ages in its membership is catered for and members living
locally find that the excellent transport links makes travelling into
central London, 15 miles away, effortless.
